The IRS might be stirring the pot too.

Komen has never been anti-abortion, and is filled with people who favor planned parenthood. Nancy Brinker herself had association with the organization (board director). So I never thought Komen's original decision was based on ethics. Rather it was based on fund raising efficiency and the bad rep of planned parenthood rubbing off on them.
Still it would be normal to be angry when a beneficiary turns around and bites the hand that has been feeding them. Komen might have continued with their divorce from planned parenthood. But I suspect that the IRS might have notified Komen of a need to look over their financial records, and those of the directors. That would be a real reason for an about-face.

Komen is the big loser in this exchange. All companies considering the possibility of funding planned parenthood should consider this. The Komen experience this week reminds me of that nasty old movie: "Fatal Attraction".
